As a multi-disciplinary designer, I seek to explore different ways to work and create, and enjoy learning new tools and mediums. Below are a few examples of work I've done outside of product design roles in the from of visual design, knitwear, and illustration.
A watercolor-style illustration of the TOE LIBRARY HOTEL, a small building of boutique apartments (and now a cafe on the first floor) in Tokyo, Japan. It was the first place I stayed in when I visited, and my favorite.
A gouache painting of a scene from Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service. I began with a rough sketch based on the film, and used water-based gouache paints to fill the color and finishing linework. The piece itself was quite small, measuring only about 5.5 inches wide.
Graphic created for Magpie Coffee Roasters, a speciality coffee shop and roaster based in Reno, NV. I used Figma to create some simple vector-based images, and we landed on two final options before choosing one to be screen printed onto grey long-sleeve shirts.
A graphic designed in Adobe Illustrator for the Hotdogs & Highballs June 2023 event. The creative brief called for a "hotdog character inspired by chibi-style illustrations." The design was used to create stickers and printed on black t-shirts for the event.
A test-knit for the "Checked Out Sweater" by Mouton Kints, a former knitwear pattern seller. I tested the draft for a size small sweater, and gave feedback and suggestions about the measurements and the technique used to bind off the collar, all of which made it into the final pattern when made available to the general public for purchase.
